Oriental United Methodist Church is a diverse community of ordinary individuals who bravely place their trust in Jesus, allowing Him to perform extraordinary feats.

Statement of our core values

Since 1887, Oriental United Methodist Church has been and is committed to living out our values of love for God and one another.  Guided by John Wesley’s Three Simple Rules: do no harm, do good, and stay in love with God, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously. All are always welcome in our OUMC community.


Our Shared Common Heritage

United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. According to our foundational statement of beliefs in The Book of Discipline, we share below under "What we Believe," the basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities.

We believe that church isn't just about a building with a cross. It's about people's relationship with God and each other.

Everyone is born to live in a community, not alone.  As a closed-knit church, we believe we can all walk along our individual paths, together. With a strong shared sense of His love, each member of the OUMC community can find a way to live a wholesome life of faith while sharing the struggles, happy moments and wishes with other members of the church.
